My Family Tree

I am a product of my family tree
Long from the roots, but yet so near

With branches that spread
And swings in the winds

I am warm and friendly
I am as cold as ice, dead men have humour

A complex conundrum
A joy to the shrink when I visit

Then he is left confused
After my visit, needing to unthink

I am rigid, hard as a bone I would not bend
I am soft, squishy as a sponge

I am free spirited, free as a bird
Nothing you say would bother me

I am so self conscious
Looking from mirrors reflection seeing blemish

Don't blame me
I am a product of my family tree

The wind blows my branches
And I swing with the winds

Calm Waters

Patience is not having
The peace of mind and calmness

In still waters, like buddha
In a mountain retreat somewhere

Away from the chaos of life
That is just being privilege

It is trying to have the peace of mind
With blood pressure, up in rough waters

It is holding back so hard with sweat
So you do not go crazy.. on self doubt

In-between that
Talking to one's self out loud

Edging one's self in third person
To calm down, stay calm

While walking on hot coal
Did I miss a point on

Feeding off my bones

Feeding off my bones
My ambitions

#So find me a reason
#Different from my understanding
#It is, what it is I see when I look up
#That is my calling, my dreams and ambitions

Some are still feeding off my bones
They say it is juicy so they

Go on sucking my bone marrow
We changed faces, like season

Lovers came and went in different sizes
Colour coded in area codes to suit

My face got fatter and slimmer
In one given season, renewal

Then I found angels
Angels with wings in my prayers

#So find me a reason
#Different from my understanding
#It is, what it is I see when I look up
#That is my calling, my dreams and ambitions

Travellers named me a regular
On the road less travelled

I stayed around, longer than most
Yea, I know these roads my neighbourhood

Each brick
And the marks on them

Who made them
Gone are a few, forgotten faces

#\So find me a reason
#Different from my understanding
#It is, what it is I see when I look up
#That is my calling, my dreams and ambitions

My mind plays games on me sometimes
Like the story is without me in chapters

I came close, many a times
And I lost track of reasons

Still with strong faith in the religion
We were born this way, go figure

We breathe in and out
And it is all with our dreams and ambitions

#So find me a reason
#Different from my understanding
#It is, what it is I see when I look up
#That is my calling, my dreams and ambitions

Hold on now, not so quick
Wait until tomorrow and tell me how it all went down

I can not take my focus of these roads
They change like the sand dunes in the Sahara

And we still travelling, a foot forward
Though it feels like forever

When we look back
It seems we have made progress

#So find me a reason
#Different from my understanding
#It is, what it is I see when I look up
#That is my calling, my dreams and ambitions

So who is counting
Ask him to look at our worth in consideration

Mixed feelings
Personality change and I switch

Back and forth arrows in rushed pages
When I am in that mood, stay away, it takes a while

We only human, blood that boils
Counting down on our ambitions

#So find me a reason
#Different from my understanding
#It is, what it is I see when I look up
#That is my calling, my dreams and ambitions

Tell family I would be late coming home
This night, something came up

You know how it is
Some are still feeding off my bones

I pray my heart
Stays strong, for the journey

I fear I am changing again
They feeding off my bone marrow again

It is my ambition eating me alive
But  it is all just for the cause

God bless , I know I am blessed
I know I am

#So find me a reason
#Different from my understanding
#It is, what it is I see when I look up
#That is my calling, my dreams and ambitions

Trotro stories #13 who is free

Economics is like what you can afford
How deep is your pocket to sing songs

So when a woman with four kids
Boards a public transport

Some amount of adjustment and calculations
Will have to be made to get things moving

For five to become two
She would only pay for two her pocket size

How deep is your pocket
Be the judge if in a position to pay

Or forever keep yours shut
Life is not fair, that is just life

But we all have to make due
On travelling roads

Tell me who is free
She is a "mother" oh mother

Lady luck

What happens to the gate keeper
If he looses the key

Do we queue in wait
Hoping he would find his senses

And remember where he was
Last standing before amnesia

What happens to the time line
As credit on a given mark

To be honoured before
The close of day by this day

Do we put up tents, burning old firewood
And camp for the night

Hoping lady luck
Would show her face and honour

Honour our patience
With accolades reciting stories of our deeds

I found love in the middle of a storm
And this was a price worth paying

Something borrowed
A heart that was once captured

Something blue, as blue
Something new, as new

A six pence in your shoe
I found love in the old woods

Where we laid our tent
And forgot we planted fruitful trees

Forget about the gate keeper
Forget about him loosing the keys

We found another way in
Lady luck came dressed as love

Blowing her flute
She opened doors with her breeze

Unloading weights

I sense a weight being lifted
On my chest away from me

I have carried these sacks

For so long on my shoulders

Dragging on the floor

As a part of me

Sworn into my skin

Attached like birth mark

I have carried these weight

For so long

Like the badges worn by

The army officer

And on this day

They just came off , dead skin

Like the day of retirement

For the General

Hanging his uniform
And weighted badges for good

To do away with
The burden of  yesterday
