Every now and then I am left with a conundrum
For which to choose from, a deliberation to ponder
I would have settled for yesterdays dampen treasures
Had it been yesterday you offered it to me
And even though a lot more gold mines, are out
Mine for my price held, will still remain high for you
And thus in the value I keep, for you to know
What I have to give in values I own
There is always the issue of enlightenment
After one has donned the coat to know alternatives
Like if a salt water fish is to
Find and discover a fresh water swim
I would not lie to you and say I swear
With fingers crossed at my back twitching
With a look to the side, to say that there are no prey
I have seen bigger ones, in these here fresh waters to tremble
Thirst is more known in this island of golden sand
Where the sun sits bright as paradise on earth
But it is less crowded in ways
And more value it holds to treasure, to own
I would have settled for yesterdays treasures
Had it been yesterday you offered it to me
"I would have settled for yesterdays treasures
ReplyDeleteHad it been yesterday you offered it to me"
Great lines!

Wonderful line and so true their value loses after time takes its toil
Truth in your words. Is the opposite also true? Are tomorrow's treasures rejected today because we don't yet see the value?
ReplyDeleteWonderful words, the Sewin is such a fish, like the Salmon it returns to the fresh water after a life at sea.
