The Calling

Do you hear the early calls in the morning
That wakes you before the alarm

Do you sense the yearning in your heart
When you sit to gather your thoughts

Do you dream about it constantly
And each time it is the same old dream

Do you see, visions of it gathering form
Clouded days, loose their clouds

Like the sunflower that follows the sun
Do you feel yourself following the path

Are you engrossed in it totally
Deep dive and into depths of drown

Yet still able to walk the sea bed chest out
Like the water has not yet replaced the air

And your options are not very limited
That the last breath is all you hold

Are you that person, you see in the mirror
Looking at yourself, back at you with smile

Do you speak the same language
Of perseverance even when you are scared

Have you got what it takes, have you
Does the fire burn solid in you

Then I would say to you, you have the calling
You are  blessed with the burden of a dream

Anything else, old friend don't bother
Look for something else that matters to you

Just don't bother without a calling
For you will fail carrying this heavy load

The calling, this is the calling

A case in point

Sometimes I try, I really try, sweats attached believe me
Sometimes not so much, with procrastination and sleep walking

Sometimes I don't at all, no movement at all, deadbeat on time
Sometimes I deviate, dysfunctional compass, spinning wheels

But most times, in my most solemn moment, mirrors reflection
I am reminded of what drives me, a beacon of light

And what the vision holds, pictures drawn
A goal in mind, realigning sentiments, objectives as sign posts

The road is never a straight one, the compass still works
And the focus will always get me there, foretold I can feel it

Adjusting clocks, rewinding arms
To tell the time, on tic toc of dreams, I aspire

This is a case in point, an angle of thought
A case in point being made here, as we proceed

Shifting Sand Dunes

An elastic stretched too far
Will loose its elasticity, breaking point

But then, whats the alternative to give
Somebody loses out even when all seems settled

I have seen soft balls without trickery
Suspend in the air levitating, whats the catch

And rabbits in Alice's rabbit hole, sticks
Digging their foot in, with carrot contest

Is there a colour left to be picked
When all three choices given have been used

Do escape clauses still apply
And against the small print, who wins

Is the bitter sweet end, better
Or a sweet bitter end, is there a difference

I have seen the sand dunes
Shift too many times to follow suit

Yet to travel through the Sahara, to make it
One has to know a few markers, spots

Do not try to define me
Such few markers stick like road maps

I am like the sand dunes, I just realized
I am still, shifting with the winds, forming

The Make A Wish Foundation

Customarily candle lights are blown
To make wishes, make a wish
Make a wish and blow out the candle lights

With your eyes closed, no peek, no peek
Come now dear, dear,  make a wish
And wish it to be just that true

Fairy-tales and  dreams are made
Of the same dust of  magic  from the heavens
That made the earth, so make reality of your wish

For this day, that and all the rest
Make a wish, have a dream, close your eyes
Snap your fingers and believe it to be true

By the time the day finds it ends
With the sun out at sea, open your hearts
And watch reality of your dreams come true

Make a wish, make a wish
Send an S.O.S to the make a wish foundation
See my dear, fairy-tales and dreams do come true

So make a wish on this day
Make a wish, make a wish and have a dream
Blow out the candle and make a wish, make a wish

A Skeptic's Cake

Skeptics never see the cake bake
Never when it is out in the fields

When the farmer ploughs his fields
And for each row he plants in sown seeds

Not at 5am each morning dawn
When he wakes to attend to his farm land

Skeptics never smell the cake fresh
Not at harvest time dirty old fields

With the grains through the mill work
To the flour made fine and ready

Mixing the flour and the butter  to dough
The eggs and sugar to be added to the mix

Skeptics never lay plates ready dressed up tables
For banquet; for what cake? baked? no

The oven kept warm and just as right
At the temperature best prescribed

But when the curtain is drawn out to day
Skeptics are always first in line to lay claim

Skeptics never see the cake bake
Skeptics never smell dreams fresh in the oven lay

Summer Night Dream

Most mammals in the sea are from the dream world
Most dreams are of sea blue in dream state
Psychedelic  illusions and slow moving creatures

Mountains and hills, valleys with under current
Trees and rivers swinging on the waves
In my dream I saw blue men with posture

They moved slow and with lucid grace
They pondered with arms to their chin hold
Lamenting of yesterday, they held an aura of mystic

Most days at summer night with the moon blue
All just seems like the dream world of the seas
When everything familiar becomes so alien

Fogs by the Windsor Bridge

My dairy walk with nature
Bridging the river of thoughts
With structured wide to hang

On a foggy day with boats
From the land of river where fish stocks
Are grabbed on nets of men

I would call yee
Windsor, windor thy bridge
Man made as barrrier to tame nature

Solemn walk with one's thought
The foggs in the day near this river
Hides one's thought from all

Adventure with the Greek gods

Would the sun ever touch the sea
Each day I wonder at sunset
Each day I wander, at sun down
And wish to be a Greek god to know

Does the sun ever touches the sea
Always too far in a distance to tell
Out in the ocean, far from me
Does the sun ever touch the sea

Does the sea bubble hot, like boiling water
Does the sun cool down where they meet
Apollo and Poseidon on a show down
A front seat view with popcorn at sunset

Before Achlys takes over the night
And all innocent do sleep the night
This is the story of adventure
Told to the infants as bed time stories

Just before they close their eyes
To be made Greek gods on adventures
In the morning I hope to know
If the sun ever touched the sea

Who was there, who saw it all
Who became a Greek god
And had a dream, filled with adventure
Did the sun ever touch the sea

Fastened Parachutes

Dreams alternate realities
Concept, visions and surrealism

Altered transpiring translucent sights
Abstract notions enforcing angles

Last night, I dreamt I jumped in parkour
From a roof top unto the grounds below

Then the grounds gave in, caved in
Such intense physical feeling of being absorbed

I went through the earth solid each layer
Then suddenly through the clouds I appeared

And there I was, falling from the sky
With g-force and vertigo so vivid in perception

Bizarre irrational plunging at sensation
So tonight I have got myself a parachute, fastened

Try me tonight, with fall or bury
Try me tonight,  with a parachute fastened I come ready

A memory box

As part of the route 66,  through life
Nightingale signals that, there is one we are tasked to
Ordinarily it seems impenitent, effortlessly required

But it has to be honoured  that is the deal
With the price required of one
On inevitability, it has to be paid

Not so heavily on one's stock
At a go, of such price required  to see
Hence its absence, the realization of commitment

Pushed to the background, like breath
With easy, unassuming and unimposing
Settle with repertoire and without macho

Yet it exists in ways that comes to light
Manifest when need be, and it is called upon.
One of these days you will come to know such notion

When you are tasked to recall on account
You will realize, that every passage in life
Takes from one and gives of its own

In transformation as necessary
Just as the nightingale sings
On beds of roses to change colour

Every individual or occurrence
Leaves an imprint of their memory
And take that of one, as exchange of gifts

Sometimes seen vivid in daylight apparition
You came to mind, deep from my sub-conscience
Like a ghost from once upon a time on route 66

At night when the nightingale sings
In the pre-dawn of darkness, you came to mind
Her music pours out memory, you came to mind

Dreams to remember

Surround my dreams, rest my mind
Rest my body, soft on a thousand strong
In the morning let me have memory of this dream

Chasing Dreams

Chasing dreams on sixth sense
An awakening of the mind
It rings bells, of realisation

Eventually there comes a time
When one has to step out, get your feet dirty
And walk in the fields of dreams had

Many have pictured notions of change
To impact and leave a legacy in this world, behind
Then they go back into the safety of preoccupation

Procrastination sleeping away on day light
With excuses of why not now
And each day, the cock crows

Rings bells of thoughts of awaking
Frustration of the present development
But fearful of taking the plunge

The surroundings are quick to discourage
Fall in line, every one else is, why you with difference
Numb down the excitement of change, fall in line

Before long, opportunity passes by
While the stories become only of relevance to
What could have been done

Eventually there comes a time of fulfillment
And triers luck may shine bright
On the one who took a step to stand alone

But no such eventuality
For the man who feared the rain
And went back in, at the sound of thunder

If I don't make it past the first post
I gained value from having the experience
In chasing dreams, tomorrow will tell

What Is Next

Where are you, I ask
With strings attached, string-fellow
Wearing  down my existence

What is next, I ask, what is next
We placed our trust in the system
We paid our tax to the system

We signed to the school of thought you peddled
We followed with faith what you  preached
We aspired to reach the pinnacle set

We acquired what success ascribed to be
What dreams, we were asked to dream
We connected and invested into the system

We mortgaged our freedom to the system
We tied a knot to the system, confetti
We were briefed on who, held t' moral high ground

We then  watched the system fail to deliver
We got to know what was fact from illusion
We lost our jobs because of the system

We felt the pain in our pockets
We felt the hunger in our stomach
We had no security for our children, lost our houses

We woke to realise the fallacy fed to us
Where halo the funds and joy was
What we had, what we were sold

And we went to occupy wall street
Some of the people some of the time
We demand answers to the question

Who was it that benefited
If we are said to be, a part of the system
Yet we suffer most from the system

Where I want to be

How I want to start the day, on focus, own to day
Go about, leaving my mark on the day
Like the cat, I am to mark territories to day

This is my zone, what I want to do today
Work today, achieve today, determined a tad bit more today
Like a man, stood on graduating post, today

Who I want to be today
Be known today,  be shown as today
Like the heroes I look up to today

To be looked up to, as inspiration today
By the followers that come after me, today
Like I do to the one's before me, today

Where I want to be today, be stood today
From dreams had, aims to have achieved today
Like from the prayers I prayed, to have come true, today

That is where I aim to be, today
When the sun goes down on the day, today
Just so I will have owned the day, today

Today ,
Today,
Oh, yes today, it must be today

A Mexican Stand-off

Some times I feel like greed
Going after too many objects that glitter
My eyes goes blind, and I am left with none

Close though, always close enough
To taste ownership of the dream
So I make a come back, on addiction of ambition

Sometimes I stretch so much, so far
I lose elasticity and take on other forms
Like what lies between magic and the spell "half baked"

Longer in such forms than I want to be
In transformation state. No one is suppose to look
In the  hot eyes of melting ore, not for that long

Some times it is the commitment that lacks
Like sitting to watch a screen play about, me myself a' I
By a bunch of rebellious teenagers, with other plans

There is always that tingling feeling
That takes me back, with strive
For a while away from procrastination

That lures me into just one more step
When I am past the muscles  stretch of strength
Just one more, to shy procrastination

Sometimes I take that step, with vim
Other times I feel  so stretched
Chasing two dreams on opposite ends

Facing a Mexican stand-off with a handicap
Awaiting for outcome on count down
Between sat in sofa comfort procrastination and strive

Something has got to give, that is the rule
Something always gives, that is the rule
When the needle drops, that is the rule

But for renewed strength from back bones
Which says to one, take on the two, am with you
I believe in you, and no mountain is too high to climb

To make it to one's feet
And still be the fastest shooter
With smith and western

My Pin Up

We look out to see
What crystal balls hold
And we day dream over  utopia

It is better that way, leisure away
Time so precious, indulging
On alternate universe

My pin up girl
Like the stars afar
In the distance of the heavens

Set as background  drop
For your spectacles of beauty
But do not transform into flesh

For with that, in reality
I will come to know your imperfections
Your weakness, your darkness

Be forever in my desire
Please do not come close
Your star nearing earth to have gravity

Spare me the reality of your actuality
Allow me, to just day dream of your perfection
A fine figment of my imagination

Stay lined, aligned in parallel worlds
Be Hollywood, be glitter, starstruck
Allow me to day dream, my pin up girl

My pictures that hangs

Defining my phantom
Pictures hold,
Such beauty of utopia
Distance stands, as safe guard grounds protected

Devoured from reality, phantom
Escapism is our treasured delight
Fantasy in our spare time, indulged in-between gaps ..

Illusion are set, as our getaway passes
Paradise reflects, wanting in context
The rich, the poor, all of needs, put in context

Paradigm of life
Bubbles that burst, floods our reality
Dreams are set, in sleep mood
To recoil day strive, for nourishment

When things fall apart
Love unfold unloved, rage destroys
Stars  and the Moon, falls off the sky, unleashed

Day dream, and night dreams
Entangled in nightmare
Craziness unending, like day of the night

While painted oceans on canvas
Floods carpets,
In down pour, like a horror movie

As balance of weight
Tilts, wobbling on sides
Juggling, all to set off balance in life

This is my dream, my patch
My Phantom
My escapism

This is my indulgence
Hustling, striving, seagull's with uplift
To keep things in accordance

Pictures that hangs, set
On equilibrium fastened
On my wall, to stay as placed

No funny business around here
Messing with  my comfort, my friend
Put away abstract and surrealism
