The Beach Calls

This is why I have to get to the beach
Sand between my toes on a sunny day
Sea washed stones, sea shells, sea weed grappling

Sea breeze embracing my skin to freshen my face
Little crabs digging out the sand for treasures lost
Gently, gently the waves comes in and out on applause

And a thousand angels sing with the waves like church choir
Each time, each time it comes in to shore from voyage
To calm my soul, such soothing feeling, therapeutic

This is why I have to get to the beach
This is why I have to get to the beach
Oh, this is why I have to get to the beach

Having a warm soup

We all meet up in the middle sometimes
When the seasons are right
We all brush off the mud on our boots
On the doormat, that spells out welcome home

Walking out of the cold into the warmth
An empty chair seats idle
With our names imprinted on, reserved  for
Like a movie director's chair with comfort

Here take your coat off
Here have a seat, here a warm soup
Or coco, have some bread to fill you up
And do tell us stories of adventure

And trepidations, dragons you have slayed
At some point, I feared I wouldn't make it
Nightmare rings awakening, like alarm clocks
To my sleep awake and I sweat the demons out

Words do, belittle experience to talk of
But hold on, it is a lie what was spelt out
In the beginning so bold, like prophecy
And infested with assurance that mild

We do not all meet in the middle sometimes
When the seasons are right
Some never made it back and empty seats
Remain around tables in advent

An old friend passed away
He will not be here this year
An old friend changed alliance, false start
He now stands at the front line with the enemy

An old friend lost his map
He sits in the cold in street corners begging
Without direction on course to take
The magnet in his compass is without life

So I hold back my speech of travesty
And look into the hamper bag I carry
To bring out presents of merry, I carry more of those
Don't be fooled by t' size of t' bag, it is like the Tardis

The most valuable of all, is to have made it here
In the middle sometimes, when seasons are right
To brush off the dirty on our boots, on welcome mats
Hang our coats and have a warm soup

NB: If you saw the baby in the picture above
you have good eyes and Merry Christmas

Presents wish list

Christmas cards, and presents wrapped, inkpot opened
What is it, you want for Christmas
Dilemma, dilemma, of what to get you

Would you like, what wrappers hide
Or would it end up, just like all the others
Neatly stacked up, dust and curb-webs, up the cellar

Presents, presents, oh what to get you
Stress this is, in reading one's mind
Let me know, please do let me know now

Let me know, before the inkpot  goes dry
It been sat here opened and ready, for far too long
On thoughts of what to, ink down on gift list

What to get you, to please you the most, most of all
To fill the empty Christmas tree, with props
Please let me know, do let me know, before the ink goes dries

On what I am to write on cards and presents
On what I am to get you, on boxing day
To have you have the biggest smile, to show to all

The Tourist Shop

Things we pick up along the way
In life we journey to and fro
Destination to destination, to and fro

Picking memorabilia from spot to spot
In tangible and intangible souvenir  gifts
In forms they come, from corner to corner

Be it experience and lessons learnt
Or affection from knowing you, knowing me
It is the treasures bolted in memory box

Some get statues, some buy T-shirts
Some get ripped off hoping to pick a bargain
Leaches picking on the holiday gullible

But always be assured , in shapes and sizes
Journeys leaves an impact
Before moving on, in chapters written

Some are codes to decipher, in life's scribbles
Some are stories on repeat told
Some to be hidden banished from day light

These are things we pick along the way
From the ages we journey along the way
To this day and expecting more

A quick stop by the gift shop, quick now
Hoping to pick a good bargain
Before curtains close

And its time
To say good bye
Good bye

London to Vince with Love

We will set sail on waters through t' city,..
Exchanging bumpy potholes for floatation..
As we swim in boats , in gentle melody..

Entwined, like caramel a' chocolate in one melt..
Chauffeured along by Pavarotti, he sings..
Lovers songs, collaborations with t' rivers voice..

T' good old lady, with old romance..
Will smile, with content of t' love..
We share, she will tell us of t' best..
Spots in t' city, to caress as one..

We will walk the narrow lanes
That brings us closer together..
In alley ways, with perfect spots for our first kiss or two..
On steps that symbolises growth in love..

I will capture funny memories of you ..
On cameras and you will of me..
A stranger will gladly do us the honour..
Capturing our moment of tranquillity,..

In-front of the unending web rivers of love..
We will wear mask and dance in ballrooms..
We will dine at t' river front, overseeing t' sunset..
We will have caricatures painted of us..
By t' old man, who sits at t' edge of bridge..

We will stand in front of t' old church,..
A' pledge our love to each other..
We will day dream of our future together..
How many babies to have

A' make plans for joyous memories..
We will say these are t' stories our ..
Offspring's will come to know..
When we went to Vince

We will wish to be no where, but right here..
By t' edge of river, hand in hand..
With time stood still, lying in each others arms..
We will make love memories, in Venice..

Long Time No See (Cross Roads)

Long time, no see, no see
Seeing you
Like a ghost from past memories
Unaware, till I see you
How far, long, fast time flies

Time gone by in memory
When we shared a pact
Secret handshakes
Always together
The show stoppers
Playing to the gallery gallantry

When did we fade into shadows
Away from each others lives
Small talk, now being made
“Last I heard you went
travelling the world”

We use to talk for hours
Now awkwardness gathers in the clouds
Taking  precedence holding hostage
And silence, takes centre stage
After a few words said

We have grown apart
Drifting strangers, on voyage
We have become in formation

"See you around, see you soon"
As a ghostly haunt, echoing from the past

Knowing  very well, we would
Probable never, again cross paths

Our parallel worlds crossed
And  we caught a glance of each other

At this juncture, pass this junction
Again we go our separate ways again

No longer reminiscing
Of the good old days
Replaced by the awkward silence
Of our last meet up that awkward

It has all changed now, forgotten codes

Now, we are just ghostly strangers
Who's paths once crossed
On the journey of life
