If it rains in Georgia, it rains in Accra

Rain drops on my window
Singing melodies of distant memory echoing sounds

I sing along to it, it rains down here in Georgia
And it rains all around the world

Each line drawn, codes
Unraveling messages in a bottle

The rain keeps me grounded
It allows thoughts to digest

We have been going for far too long
Far too long now on cross roads

Each line drawn out to hypnotize me
Into a world I have long forgotten about

It rains down here in Accra
And I feel the age in time we have lost

I am back now on your streets again
Almost as a foreigner to find my way again

You have changed in so many ways
Guess I have too, in so many ways

I have not yet visited my pilgrim home
Down in Dansoman where memories were first made

In my safe place my mind always takes me there
I have not yet visited home Datus so close by

Last I did it was walled like a prison vaulted entombed
So different from how I knew it to be, free as before

Strange, with strangers living there at present
I have not yet visited home, last I did I got lost

It rains here in Georgia, a rainy night in Georgia
That was some old country and western song

Drawing nostalgic emotions out of me
Played on XYZ fm, dial on  the end tune

This is me, sitting in a traffic jam in Accra slow
Each light flash on my window takes me there and back

It rains here in Accra, it rains all around the world
It rains in Georgia too, it rains in Georgia too

How to sweeten the clouds

If it rains, and every umbrella
Swings wide its span, to capture space
Trench coats and wellington boats

Pots of water flood canyons
Enraged one, with frustration
By the driver who splashes on ponds

Misery drawn on the face with drench
If it rains, and everything gets wet
And umbrella's forms mask to disguise faces

And all long for a clement weather
Look out for the girl with the flower yellow
And ask her to fly to t' sky to seek word with t' clouds

Bearing flowers, as gift to please
To say, to the clouds, hold back your tears, dear
And do not cry, here is a flower to cheer you up!

How to sweeten the clouds
Hold back your tears, hold back your tears, dear
This is how to sweeten the clouds

How rich is a drop of rain

How rich is a drop of rain, or just a word
I am going to follow its journey, in just words
For just a drop, how rich is its worth

It starts on impact with a bounce on leaf
A trickle here, a trickle there
A trickle, a trickle gravitating everywhere

Slowly in the middle to forms of nectar
The birds and bees do feed on trickles
Pollen formed from a trickle, a trickle

A trickle bounce a' bounce, a trickle drop of rain
To the earth it falls, to the land sipping through
To the roots, where it reaches, with riches to feed

And the tree that stands to benefit, blossoms bright
Green shoots of leaves to pronounce its health
And for its wealth, a harvest of fruits, and then some

And then some, how rich is  drop of rain, I ask,
Forget not I drank a glass of a trickle, a trickle
The last of it, gave rivers for the fish to swim, the sea

The last of it, went back up, like wisdom gained
Into the clouds to rain again, showers to rain
Rain is a drop, a trickle, a trickle another day

My Red Brolly On Strike

"You know the other day,
Yea the other day"
'Small talk, small talk non-sensible'

'Like I am to know the other day
How many other days past, in time past by
So anyway to humour the humourless
Indulge me in this here stories told'..

'I will stand down  off picket line to hear this
Away with words'; "Anyway the other day
When rain pulled down the red shower curtains
And left me with no towel in dry ups"

"You came to me, made me a promise
To be my red shower cap
Then you went and broke a finger
Left spikes pointed out on danger zones"

"A small gust of wind that's all it took
Then you went and turned Judas on me
Went in side out and had me exposed
Left me to the mercy of the rain drop wash"

"Drenched to the", 'no not there',
"Yea and all, on there, of there, in there
All wet like a wet blanket"

"Remember the other day? "
'Okay, ok case made
Stories told, heard loud and clear'

'But to have broken my little finger
Be bashed by the wind turned inside out
You showed no care'

'Left me,  ditched me, dropped me
In bin baskets, your shoes saw a cobbler
And I saw the waste lands smell'

'Now you tell me of the other day
This small talk non-sensible
To have disrupted my picket line'

'To have broken my resting mind
On this small talk of the other day
Now you protest on the other day'

My bRoKeN Brolly

 Rain drop, drip, drape..
Drapes, drops, drips

And then I'm drenched..
What to do, with my broken brolly..

Big, small, old of English,..
Flowery oriental, in looks of China ..
Beauty in colours, of Mary Poppins..
Then sometimes; sometimes in black..

Just in black..
With oak, or ivory, handles hold..
As this then becomes,  my walking stick..
My walking stick; old English, gentleman's brolly..

My walking stick
My walking stick
My walking stick

What to do, with my broken brolly..
With hooks all off, and springs all sprung

On crooked lines, on narrow roads
In walks I take, I make,  for all to see..

In winds it goes, tumbling inside out..
With loosened spikes sharp, to be avoided..
On sliver spokes, dashed rushed pointing all out..
To sea of people, I shout “health and safety”..

What to do, with my broken brolly..
While all along, in the old Queen’s England..
Rain drop, drip, drape, drapes, drops, drips

And then I'm drenched, and then I am drenched ..

I stamp in puddles, to dance my brolly dance

#I sing in the rain, #I am singing in the rain
And wiggle it hold, on dangling handling
Along the way, #I sing in the rain

In good old deary, rainy England..
I sing in the rain, with my broken brolly
On what to do, with my broken brolly..
Dolly, lolly, polly, brolly brolly, broken brolly
