Cowardly they run into darkened corners
Behind close doors, in crowded rooms
They make steps, tiptoe and whisper
Eating and drinking from the same cup
Loyalty loudly proclaimed "raw"
Still with crossed fingers, held behind
Pointing out from a distance,
Sending one to his death bed
Before time
In public, they cry out the loudest,
Making sure they are comforted
In their sorrow
First to commit last to part-take
After the fact, with the blood of their brother
They carefully drench themselves
They boast of their heroic deeds,
Yet were never seen
In the heat of the moment
They offer their bravery
In times when sleeping dogs lie
They forcefully ask to be honoured,
Yet for which honour
Yet unknown
Yellow bellies in the room, oh cowardly knights
A perfectly penned work on cowardice. Well done!

Glory, achieved without accomplishment, has been sought by many throughout history. Sadly, some find it.
