Standing Tall

Rebels with words
Protesting to be heard
A romantic at heart

Wielding words to wow
The damsel in distress
Calling out an SOS

For the attention of love
Oh mine its cold outside, my knight
Tonight the chill feels intense with intent

A call out to the one with words
Sat by the open fire, to tell stories, recite poems
And break chains the chill holds on me

Like a knight to free his princesses
On top of the castle in old fairy tales
Like Joan of Arc,  full of bravery

A social commentary, a political activist
But don't let your words just be words
With no meaning on intent

Beating around the bush on acts
Be bold with words on commitments and deeds
Be Gandhi, be Luther King, be John Lennon

No not just words, be Bob Geldoff
Be more than just the words, be Helen Killer
And inspire a generation, be Mandela

But not if darkness
Clouds your thought
Like Hitler the writer, your heart  I query

Leave that out
Or see someone for help
Just don't add to the chill

Subjective Perspective

A blow with a word strikes deeper
Than a blow with a sword
Words are all we have

Famously, frivolously, chitty chitty
My girl says I make up words
Sometimes I leave it blank, empty head in a room

Meaning, this thing, "this thing" being my favourite line
Fills in the gap on thoughts, of  my missing words, read my mind
Ok ok, time out, ours to hold, on hold, I remember word

Lets see, in pictures view
Mirror, mirror, on the dictionary wall of words
To whom is the word, best to behold

This hold adds meaning in definitions expressed
Thesaurus gives options, go on make my day
On words to replace with, then with, them with

Poets like big words, again with confusing conundrums
As if methaphors are not
Hard enough to decipher

So brain works, brain food
Brain storm, tic toc, tic toc,  sudoko
You should know by now

Already by now this is me ranting.
But to t' point to be made, by now, on words with words
Chaos and order are two sides of the same coin

So who holds order, ready in exchange for chaos
Curiosity always gets the better of man in exchange
I am heading towards order with word, patience,  me love

The thing is, this thing is
Poetry like abstract painting
Needs subjective, perspective, rendition

For the individual to make their own
Mirror, mirror on the wall, this thing, with words
Who is the most beautiful, of them all, to be used "subjective"

Note: if you understood this poem, then you did better than I did

Talking Drums, Being Human

I am a man about with words,
Sometimes you may be right to think
The English dictionary resides in my head

Making connections seamlessly
Like the weave of tapestry effortlessly
I am a man about with words

If I was to be a priest, blessed to preach
Hallelujah to my last word sentence we speak
One of those charismatic priest

I would have had a mega church
To animate my actions and words on stages
I am a man about with words

A poet no less
Self proclaimed  as thus
For I am a man about with words

Politician with a flair
I am to wow the crowd
I am a man about with words

Talking drums will mimics my verses
Sending sound waves across the landscape
Announcing, there is a man about w' words

Philosophy will carry a message in abstract The wise excited of it's parable,
While others ponder over meaning.

But some times I just stammer on "the"
Being tongue tied, like a dream of nightmare
I am a man about with words

Still only human
When the talking drums go silent
With words "slipping through my fingers"

I am a man about with words
Being human, talking drums
I am a man about with words

Repeat Sentences

I know so many words
From alphabets in letters play
To make words

I know so many words
Put together in form to form sentences
Phrases, into wise sayings

I know so many words
I say so many words I know
Put together to forms, in phrases, analysis

But then mine got quoted, to me
In wise saying, reversed order
Bequest advises, that I had

I was referenced in  a speech
Speaker's words spoken
By another directed at me, at my attention

I was referenced in  a speech
To be the recipient of advise, "be attentive"
Of lessons to learn, from words of wisdom

Then I asked with surprise, the wisdom it held
To know the author of
Such wisdom, 'who said that'

"You did", replies in consequential
"You did, don't you remember"
Replies ripples, echoes through ear drums
Sudden light switch in brain matter "awareness"

I know so many words
Like the preacher with verses
But some times, it all becomes foreign to comprehend
Until repeat sentences,  I know so many words
