Taking A Swipe

Taking a swipe
At society
At religion
At politics
At the establishment

You see, it's not like,
I am trying to take a swipe
Just taking a swipe
And it follows to digest

I read the history of grounds that stand
With the black rock to hold
I read the history, of how religion was born
That paganism is the oldest of them all

To have Christianity and Islam
Hold to gratitude  less of what is needed
T' figureheads  back-bones "women" of strong men
The very pillars of genesis in faith

I read the history of ground zero
And the symbol of the "stone "
I read the set-up of beginning, start up
And who it represented  in mixed fellowships

I read about the philosophy
They hold or once did
To open up to the world around them
The peace in messages, harmony they preach

Not like I am trying to
Take a swipe
Just taking a swipe

Not today, with fortresses built
From Rome to Mecca, to Jerusalem and beyond
Where those without common share, in beliefs
Of faith are blocked from entry's access

Not like I am trying to take a swipe
Just taking a swipe,
In doing so, in doing so

Are we not to love thy neighbour
Why close doors and lock with hatred
In keeping thy neighbour out

Left cold at the mercy of wickedness
In "I don't want to know", as a philosophy
I am really now just taking a swipe, swipe, swipe

Taking a swipe

At the establishment
At society,
At religion
At politics
And all above

On Road Maps

I travelled a thousand miles to distant lands
I heard it held treasures
To fill the bankers vault

That lure of the Wild West, the good life
Daring, romantic and tragedy
With such power of seduction

I became a cow boy and travelled far
Only to find out, paradise is sat between
Genesis and odyssey, threading the needles eye

I missed my stop, stop driver, oh how so blind can one be
To lack the sense of direction, redundant maps
To be made prodigal, void of navigation

The birds and dolphins, penguins
Follow such routes, made absent to man
But then one can be excused

My glasses I wear sits on my noise
To support my failing sight, some times
The inside looks more dirty a' murky than it is worth

I am long sighted,
So by default, by far I see from a distance or is it nearer
My vision 20-20 sends conflicting ideologies

Each to its own,
Owing to be a master of me and I of life
I am worth more, I demand more

And for more in obstacles I find to deal with
Cliché of Rome, the London bridge stands
It wasn't built in a day, the Eiffel tower

And this is to be bigger than Rome
So saddle up cow boy, two stops away from destination
Attempts at threading needles, bonzia, bingo

Lets go for the, Good Life
The Gold rush, treasures
The wins on poker tables, light flash

On What Basis

This is pay per view, like pay as you go
So listen, on account
That I make this a preview

Mine comes in words, selected so few
To summarise lessons in view
And leave them in parables

Not much needs to be said, wall street
When flash lights  image emerge
Like probe, of the subconsciousness

A thousand ignite, discontent with match
Disapproval of the run
By the powers that be

Ten thousand more
Become flammable with thought
Watching politics, bankers in pictures view

Rage of the common man
Cry of delusional futures
Rome burns, New York and Japan, storm

The elite gather their stock
And they hold in captive
Greek and Hungary hostage

To See Olympus

You are here
I was told about this place
Rich with silk, on exotic plains
Like the golden lands of Olympus

Where olive and palm trees
Shepherd the gate ways and gold poured out of fountains
Cashmere was ordinary, for the common man

Rome stood envious, to be out done
Her children were in charm, on stories told
I was told about this place

I was told about this place,
Some bear witness to as paradise
Where the sun comes out to favour once delight

As the guest of the king
Waited upon
Served as royal

I was told about this place
Where the gods reside, by a traveller with status
Who  said I had to see it with my own eyes

But first she said I had to own bravery
And cross the dessert to get to oasis, become like Thor
Through dusk and dawn in cold winters night

For the dessert laid riddled with wild beast
And bitter men, stood as land pirates
Who fed on travellers that voyaged past

I was told about this place
Where I did have to face trepidation to get to
And walk the lonely plank to test faith

I was told about this place
Where paradise laid waiting
You had to see it with your own eyes, I was told.

Will another traveller, captivate
Gathered men in-front of  open fire
Me included, in amazement, to day dream of

I wonder, or shall it be me , I
Story telling, looked upon like a hero
Who made it past the beast, and saw Olympus to tell

This Natural World

Standing on the treadmill
Of this life line, passing by, sleep walking
With blinks of what we don't see flashlight
Half of what we see, that we see

To refuse to acknowledge
Travelling through space
Between reasons and understanding
In no man's land

I look up, into the heavens
And constantly I am made aware
In acknowledgement, how insignificant we are
For what we fight for, to own, to build

Dead men's blood poured on this soil
In battles fought long before, wasted
Forgotten limps and medals of honour
Stands, Colosseum, kings who ruled

And Rome fell; long, long before invaders entered
This  artificial world we fight so  hard to own
To trade friendship, to claim
More fragile than the natural world around

Rats, cockroaches  and ants, wild grass
Constantly invading, pigeons and sea gull
Rains insult on it's very grand gesture
Constantly needing to be cared for

To keep from rotten, this world, this life
I breathe, the air that surround
And  instantly I am made to appreciate
What mother nature has offered  so freely

This world, this life opened landscape
I see mountains, forests, seas and valleys
This naturally world to have lived in
I give thanks, each day, each day I give thanks
