Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama Betrayed

How does one find the right words
To eulogies a young soul
Robbed of it's tender life

What are the right words to be used
To give meaning to the unexplainable,
Beyond  belief

Have you ever heard a nation angered
So much the clouds above
Would not thunder

And the lighting
Will dare not break the heavens.
Not this night

There are men
Who have signed thiers away,
Boldly their lives away

If to be young and to die
Let it be on the battle field
By my enemies in a foreign lands

At least with that
I will have my honor,
Let it be known, I am a hero

Let it be by the sword or bullets
Of my enemy,
Let me gladly fall

My wife and children
Deserve that from me,
To die a hero for a cause so great

And have great stories
Told of my adventures
For I am a hero

Let my wife and children
Hold their heads high
Knowing I had a fair fight

And I fought well as a soldier
So well I was honoured
A hero, a brave hero

Let two officers walk to my doorstep
Knock on my door to announce my passing   To my family, as it is done with honor.

No, not like this, not by my own
By my own that I have pledged
An oath to protect and defend

No, not by betrayal
Not by a mob crowd striping me
And burning my naked body

With no modesty left
With pictures and videos
On social media going viral

No not like this on friendly soil
No not like this for I am a CAPTAIN
I deserve better in rose cottage

On a dying man's last wish,
I deserve better,
As a legacy

My wife and children
Deserve better
I am a Captain

I  am a Captain,
Not to be cheapened and die, murdered
Without my military attire

And with my name tarnished
As a common criminal an armedrobber  How dare you, I am a Captain!

I am a Captain of the 5th Battalion,
I am a solidier in the Ghanaian army
I deserve my respect on my dying breathe

I deserve my respect.
I am CAPTAIN MAXWELL ADAM MAHAMA,
Decorated

Captain
And in command
Of  the 5TH BATTALION

That is who I am.
A fallen solidier
A decorated Captain, that is who I am

Salute!

NO WHERE COOL "Nice"

Tear drops
With blood dripping on the streets
Rivers flowing into oceans of misery

Why, I ask; so wrong
What meaning justifies a deed so mad
What philosophy holds this form to define

Souls leaving the body, on exit clause
Rising fast to the heavens
Like rain drops in reverse

Competing with God
To see who is quick on the buzzer
Fingers on the buzzer

The more souls he sends down
The more souls we send back up
Like back to sender, return address given

Worst is, in his name, in his name
Always we shout in his name
We send back, in his name

In his name
We see a great divide
In his name we hate on our differences

No mercy for the weak
No one is to be protected
No one to feel safe, be safe

Empathy lost to extinct, darwin
Sympathy replaced with excitement
Celebration of atrocity, as blessing

No where cool
No paradise, no sanctuary to seek refuge
No where safe, no where cool, manifest

No army, no police for defence
No priest, no Imam, cleric, no Buddha
To pray for our souls, back to sender

And when day breaks
The news is only worth, in a brief moment
A value in sensation, then we move on

Gun shot executed as ringtones
In the presence of witnesses, we bare
With panic, trigger happy as their defence

A truck to run wild
Through the crowd as justified
Children's body laid dead in the streets

Bombs dropped from the sky
In the name of a fight
Against a wrong, so wrong

Police confused
To defend or to attack
Fearful of those we are to love, to protect

No where cool
And Nice was targeted
For no just cause, no where cool

A Love Poem

The enemy within, gives credence
To modern day warfare and conflicts
Suicide and Plane bombing as the norm

Hostages taken with no intent for dialogue
Women and children are not to be excused
No safe passage for the vulnerable

Rather as the prime target
Children most wanted as toy soldiers
More efficient on the battle field

Conflicted ideologies enforced with fantasy
Shifting sands of tolerance,
No safe haven for victory parade

Tits for tats, like two kids on a play ground
Getting nastier to each other
From a pinch to a punch

Knifes and guns on display for options
Make it to the next stage
And it is yours to have

Enemy combatants hard to define,
Innocent ones infested like "shaun of the dead" Becoming deadlier to one's they cared so much for

Brothers slitting the throats of brothers
No blood so thick, thicker than water
The river is already full of it

Relevance of names stood for, changing so fast
You would think the brand and advertising agents Are on speed, popping pills like it is a rainy day

Competing legacies of
Who has the most insane mind
And there is no sage

For even civilisation is to be blamed
The most with hypocrisy and double standards Back biting and racism

So rotten now, the pretend wisdoms
Fights openly on the roads and in the gutters
Out doing the worst from the insane asylum

And then I am asked
Why I do not often write love poems
Blue skies and red roses

Is it just to dumb down reality,
What would the point be,
Society needs awakening not more illusion

To know they are giving consent
And not to play ignorance
With a finger on an atomic bomb

The Second Coming

Cry out when you see
The clouds form, we have been
Informed of the second coming

Revelations, revelations
Revelations

Something lurks in the bush
Like a shadow of old soldiers
Who run wild, wild

On this here
Grass land

Blood socked boots matching
As heroes wandering
The wilderness

Where is home
Where is home

History likes to repeat itself
Like an old record player
That has been played a thousand times

Yes, history likes
To repeat it self

Cry out when you see
The clouds form, we have been
Informed of the second coming

The coming, the coming
The second coming

Kiss the foreheads of your love ones
And say a prayer
For their safe passage

This is going to be
A rough road

I testify with my own naked eyes
I saw the lifeless body
Of a child washed up ashore

This is the 21st Century
Revisiting the mid-evil ages

Our heroes are those who take life
And have theirs taken for cheap
On battle fields, we worship

Blood for blood
Rivers of blood,  a sea of blood

The priest will offer
Them redemption
After confessions

A clean slate
As clean

And some will shout
"God Is Great "
Beheading their victims

God's own
God's own creation

Yes cry out when you see
The clouds form
We have been informed

Informed
Of the second coming

A man's war

Would the winds hold form
Seeing the rivers bloat

Over fed by the hills
At the start of the stream

A little trickle
A little trickle down it flows

Is God, one known to favor
And with selected preference

To owe allegiance to man
But not to all men

To watch blindly as man
Destroys another

All in his name
Martyrdom in his name

They yell and scream "for your blessing"
His name before battle

We fight for our God
This is for the lord

How is that to be explained
I created all the universe

Yet I can not win the hearts
Of all men, not all men on my side

This is man's war, all of it
This is man's greed, all of it

Masqueraded as a holy war
A jihad, a crusade; this is man's war

From the beginning of time
This has all and always been man's war

Yet with so little value on purpose
Since we keep lying to ourselves

That it is, anything but a man's war
All of it, all the blood, all the pain

No morality to fight for
No course so great

And God wanders why
And what to do with us

Fighting the two thousand year war
Just to destroy all that he created

In his name
This has always been man's war

A War For Peace

War of attrition
For the cause of peace as war
A battlefield drawn

The Ice cream parlour

Turn your head high lights down low
For you blinding my thought process

Like a coming traffic, blurred vision
And my eyes are sensitive to the ray

So I would be forced to blind drive
And run like, stamped on incoming traffic

Turn your head high lights down low
So  I can see your begrudge

And find ways suitable to manage a resolve
For what use is for a road rage

Calm down now son, woman, calm down
Just low down your emotions heightened

And turn your head high light down low, down low
I do not see, I can not see, too well in such encounters

But I respond better, much better
On an agreed compromise of civil, friendship

So turn your head high lights down low
Grab a seat, lets brake the temper with an ice cream chill

Down to my rhythm of lie, simple, simple with vibe
Down to make sense of your displeasure

Come come now, chill why don't you
Here, just there is the ice cream parlour

Enemy of the state

An old enemy knows
More of my weakness than
I will ever come to know of myself

For they spend a life time
In search to know my weakness
Standing on the hills looking in

While, I spend a life time
Knowing theirs in cold contentions
As a form of defence to prepare

These are the principles
Of war, paranoia, hate and politics
To acknowledge in barring

An old enemy will spot with trend
An emerging enemy of the kingdom
Long before the king's men ever do

For they walk in the same corridors
Seeking treasures of the observed
Holding ransom my weakness

I want to know what my old enemy
Has to say, when an olive branch is offered
Saying let shake hands and make peace

Call it "lets be honest", critically
Truth or dare and no offence taken
Truly I want to know, it is to my advantage.

This is a story about how
The enemy of the state
Gave the king heads up, before barrage rained

Guess what, he did nothing about it
With it, just left gazing for impact motionless
Wonder why conspiracy theories have a frenzy after

They charge the establishment
With being an enemy of the state
For not acting on heads up

Mind you, stuffed beasts on walls
Still gives  fright of life, who is to know
To have become an enemy of the state

Burns On Both Sides

An eye for an eye
Will make the whole world
Go blind (Gandhi)

Burns on both sides
Like skid marks to announce rage
We are going to be heard; allute

Slow down on emotion, son
Let strategy catch up with intent
And see reasons and consequences unfold

Dust storms in desserts are not the norm
Like everything else, diminishing returns
They have their reasons, season to rise

And quietly they mellow, down and fold
Smokes always start with sparks, to say
Something is not right, somewhere down the line

But the wise do not burn down houses
To find missing keys, "set back"
To open doors, of welcome home

Burns on both sides
Each to the side they stand on, stand for
Against opposing thoughts, leafy streets

But in battles both sides lose on count
A step back to see with reason
Avoiding set back on strategy, blind spots

It is foolish to walk in the dessert
While the storm  brews at it's worse
You must be new around here, wet behind the ears

The Basic Rule

Fly like a butterfly
Sting like a bee, be that it may be
Camouflage, don't let them see you coming
Now for the impact, too late, got you, ha ha ha ha ha

Life always feels like we owe one back
And happiness and fairness is just time out
Like an hour of lunch in between hustle
Before diving deep into oceans blue, beyond hostile line

Fairness is religion, in that it is not
As  thus built on Utopia
But on earth glass do shatter
And relationships are awkward

Daily politics solder understanding
With compromise if only temporary
Lets agree to disagree, on status quo
Letting sleeping dogs lie "and the rest"

So then we owe one back
On necessary evil, to keep the peace
He got as this far, we have an understanding
This is just how the rules work

No one is perfect, hidden skeletons in closets
Some are just recognisable by sway
More efficient in polishing silver
Then suddenly what they say matters

Their words are gospel, hallelujah
But do not test the subject on substance
Like I said glass do shutter, "the laws of physics"
When earth's gravity is called to play

So who comes out to play in Serengeti
Like the next door neighbour's child lost
And charity of the home he comes from
Conflicts our stand, we owe one back on compromise

But fairness is lost, on self interest
On whose idea it was to find
A balance playing field
When survival of the fittest
With step over is the basic rule

On Roads to Damascus

On roads to Damascus..
Desert storms brew, new seasons...
Blows with life of attestation's vigour..

Like the push of  dominos  falling..
Puppets masters fall off..
In suscession, against up raising ..

Puppets on revolution..
Swept up on the path way..
Them against us as we proceed..

Divide, isolate and selfish rule ..
Pointing fingures ..
At phatoms enemies..

Illusion used as weapons ..
To maintain strings,  ..
The 60 year old  emergency law t' stands ...

And we will come to know pain
Before the day is over, it is what price paid
The course for falling souls, to be made heroes

This is animal farm
George Orwell in old byzantine ..
After Napoleon takes over ..

And the opposition is silenced ..
The Marxist taste of power
The seduction of calling all his own

But not today, the storms brews..
Paul is visited on the road to Damascus..
The storm blows across accient lands...

And the revolution is to be known..
Even if not televised, try youtube..
Words spread, twitter and facebook..

The civilization is older than the oppression..
Let that be known, its new seasons ..
On roads to Damascus ..

Readers Digest

Readers digest, what's new, what's news..
And am surfing through words on papers..
News rounds, flipped to make sense of the world..
Around me, and is all crazy "sleepy" worlds ..

Not sure how ...
Sense is made out of this madness...
Retracted, blacked out sentences...
Nah, what the hell, let it all out...

And out with, be done with,
What you doing with the first stone
Stone throw, bleeder, on planks to oceans below
The fishes would have a feast today

And its confessions on Sundays
And peace is corrupted, how did  it all start, on amnesia
Crime and punishment, to switch hands, switch sides
With judges of  the barrels, gun powder

From the offended to the offender, flip sides
And it rains shower, torrential pour
Feels like every one is touched
And we are all incriminated in the process

And to know it all, in awakening,
Wakening up, in a room full,
Moon full of the transformation
Like walking with Mike in the thriller video

Institutional mandate to cover up
Dirty tricks, dirty harry, spin doctors
Clean slate, no alternative versions
For we are the ones to pay the price

Non of this madness accomplish
Its just all madness, ludacris, the papers say otherwise
Sides taken, flipped in circles, going no where fast
Switching sides, like yo-yo, in denial

To find ourselves all living on the codes
Of the forty thieves, ruled by Alibaba
And as its said, in codes of honour
There is no honour among thieves

Standing in robes of the priest and politician
Respect not me, but the uniform,
The paper, written on, spent with, the bill

We are all just pretenders,
In role play, like kids games
I wonder who to be labelled
Honestly,  Mr nice guy

To walk in daylight, and be known
Or be cloaked in illusion, imaginary friends
Squeaky clean, who is to take the moral high ground
And rejoice not, not even at the death of an enemy

He walks on planks, to the fishes feast
Is this why the artist is more valued, on paper, with paper
After death, tainted, scandals frozen
For by then, he has no sin to enact hands tied, in rose gardens

And I just made it past
The first paragraph of the reader's digest
What's new, what's news
Black out sentences

Wild Stallion

Silk lay hanged on wheat fields
She stood captivating with dancing in the wind
The sun out, the calm winds
Blows to give flight

Silk delicately lay hang on leaves
Such grace, she holds, she bares
This thus gives it, its beauty
A beauty adored, only of her kind

Through the windows of my eyes
I see such beauty, vulnerability
She sits like a fairy creature
Blows happiness in the air, with dance
Delicately expressed like the butterfly wings

And I yearn to have presence in here realm
She holds purity, she holds love
The winds are perfect in her world
I hope I guard her sanctity
It is my wish to do so

I am sure, I am up to the task
I itch to do so, with vigour
Yet I fear I come with rougher winds
On the backs of wild stallions

It threatens to blow her off her hang,
Her utopia in paradise
I hope I guard her sanctity
I fear I may bring her pain

Suu Kyi's Burma

Shackles, I have fought, many a time
The belly of the beast, draped in uniform, Well ironed, many a time I have fought

They seek and demand
To be called by honour
Yes your honour

'Salute and respect, the badge I wear
Yes your number, your gun, your threat
Sorry your honour, your Junta

So your honour ; Junta
Why am I to sit, in house arrest
Like a caged bird, arm's length

While the peaceful monk
Do protest, in defiant
Yes your honour, your general, your Junta

When you swore to protect the people of Burma oh Burma
Who's badges you wear, for your honour
Junta numbers lined in queues of generals

Sorry your honour,
To have ever questioned
Your integrity, Junta to salute

Another one, on vote counts
I guess now, close to unchained shackles
I can step foot out, among my people

To serve my people, the Mother land
With your permission of-course, Junta
With your eagle eyes, paranoia a' weary ears

With your permission, your honour, of course
To fight against your oppression
Yes your honour, with your permission

If only to say
Yes your honour, to Junta
But how could I, yes your honour, Junta

I  will I promise say words,
Which may end me, locked up in birds cage
For that is the price of freedom

While my people protest on Tuesdays
If this is our destiny to protest
Gladly we shall

No your Junta, your honour
The cage can't hold my wings
I am Suu Kyi, of Burma
