If birds had feathers they will not hang
On grills, spiced up, roasting aroma
Feeling the air, with juice
My taste bud, ready to engage
Consumed, my lips left with evidence
Of my indulgence
If birds have feathers
Oh but they do
Well before being unplugged
Oh but they do
If birds had feathers to fly
They would not hang on grills
For they will know to fly
And not walk, or run, slow enough
To be caught, by the man with no feather
Beautiful write...
ReplyDeleteI think that there are no creatures except those in the far depths of oceans undiscovered by man that can run away from featherless mankind. Even birds with wings that can fly can rarely escape. Good thing that there are many who want freedom for them.
ReplyDeleteAlso the weekly Theme for each TT will be put up on Sundays. It is up their now and posting will be on Thursday. Thanks for the beautiful poetry.
God bless.

ReplyDeleteExcellent take on this image... My thoughts immediately turned to the hapless dodo of Mauritius, so trusting and fearless fo humans that it was hunted to extinction within a few decades of the island's colonisation.
